Stephen Fry and the Blackberry Storm

There’s a very interesting piece on the BBC website at http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/technology/2008/11/can_stephen_fry_kill_a_gadget.html as to whether one influential commentator can ruin a new product’s chances of success (in this case Stephen Fry with the Blackberry Storm). I’m not convinced this is a completely new issue: I wouldn’t expect a play performed in the West End of London to do well if it got a really bad review in the Evening Standard. But it’s interesting partly because of Stephen Fry’s rather unusual status as both an actor and a gadget freak, and partly because he spread his negative comments by Twitter.
