A practical example of a mashup

http://www.walkscore.com/ works for street names (though not postcodes) in London, despite the site as a whole being quite American-oriented.

Interesting that the site includes a clear statement of its methodology (which is actually rather simple) and the limitations associated with it. Incidentally my Walkscore at home comes in around 80, which is probably typical for residential areas in London

    Wow!
That is something I was looking for!

I move house every year in London and this is just great tool to find out if the estate agents are true about “up and coming estate” with “all amenities nearby”

I am thinking of a “double mashup” – include Walkscore to websites such as http://www.findaproperty.co.uk or http://www.rightmove.co.uk and then rate each property according to walk score as well! This might potentially move real estate pricing and offer some clarity!

I have 85 so I guess I did pretty good choosing this flat last summer 😉
