The people’s republic of Highgate

Partly because of the tube strike, I spent a couple of hours this morning working on my laptop and using the free wireless network in Highgate Library (in fact there are two public libraries in London called simply ‘Highgate Library’; I was in the one in Shepherd’s Hill).

As well as the wireless connection there are fixed Internet computers, which are now linked into the people’s network, an interesting project to take some of the resources that are available through public libraries and make them availableĀ on the Internet
